2026 Ontario Baseball Best Ever Coaches Clinic

This January marks a milestone moment for me as I return to the Ontario Baseball Best Ever Coaches Clinic for the 10th consecutive year as a presenter. Over the past decade, this clinic has become one of the most important spaces in our province for sharing ideas, challenging old assumptions and helping coaches better serve their athletes. I’m grateful for the opportunity to once again stand alongside so many passionate coaches who are committed to growing the game in Ontario.

What makes this milestone especially meaningful is seeing how these teachings have carried beyond the clinic room. Over the years, my approach to hitting has helped countless coaches gain clarity, confidence and a deeper understanding of how to teach the swing, not just describe it. Many of the coaches who have attended past sessions are now applying these principles daily in their own programs and the results are showing up through the steady rise of Ontario’s next generation of hitters.

Each year, my goal remains the same: deliver information that coaches can actually use the very next day. Not theory for theory’s sake, but practical frameworks, clear language and teachable concepts that translate from grassroots baseball to high-performance environments. In 2026, I’ll be delivering two presentations that reflect exactly that mindset.

Building an Offseason Hitting Roadmap

The offseason is where hitters are truly built, but only if there is clarity, structure and purpose behind the work. This presentation focuses on helping coaches design a clear, progressive offseason plan rather than relying on random drills or one-size-fits-all routines.

We’ll break down how to map out an offseason that accounts for movement quality, strength development, swing efficiency, timing and intent. Coaches will learn how to organize training blocks, what to prioritize early versus later in the offseason, and how to scale programs for both 10-week and 20-week models. Most importantly, we’ll discuss how to connect testing, feedback and adjustments so athletes understand why they’re doing the work, not just what they’re doing.

Error Detection and Correction Techniques for Hitting

One of the greatest challenges for coaches is knowing what to fix and what to leave alone. This session dives into the art and science of identifying swing errors and applying corrections that actually stick.

We’ll explore common timing, sequencing and contact-pattern issues, how they show up in ball flight and exit velocity and how to trace them back to root causes rather than surface-level symptoms. Coaches will also learn how to ask better questions, use constraints and feedback effectively, and avoid over-coaching athletes into confusion. The emphasis is on developing smarter correction strategies that empower hitters instead of overwhelming them.

Why This Clinic Still Matters

After ten years of presenting, one thing remains constant: the Best Ever Coaches Clinic is about growth for coaches and athletes alike. The conversations, shared language and teaching models developed here continue to shape how hitting is taught across Ontario.

As we see more Ontario-trained hitters succeed at higher levels, it’s clear that better instruction at the coaching level creates a powerful ripple effect. When coaches understand hitting more clearly, players develop more confidently and the game as a whole moves forward.

I’m looking forward to another year of learning from fellow coaches, sharing ideas and contributing to a clinic that continues to raise the standard for coaching education in our province. If you’re attending in 2026, I look forward to seeing you there and continuing the work of building better hitters, better programs and a stronger baseball community.
