2025/26 Off-Season Hitting Program: Week 12 Progress Report

Twelve weeks into the 2025/26 Off-Season Hitting Program, we’ve reached the stage where improvement begins to stabilize into performance. Early in the offseason, hitters learn movement patterns. By mid-winter, they begin repeating them. By Week 12, those movements are being tested under greater intensity, fatigue and challenge.

At this point, average exit velocity and MV–AVG gaps tell us more than max numbers alone. Max velocity shows potential. Consistency reveals which hitters can access that power repeatedly.

Across the program, we continue to see encouraging progress, improved sequencing, rising averages and power that is becoming more accessible.

Understanding the Consistency Chart (Week 12 Context)

The consistency chart measures:

  • Average Exit Velocity

  • Maximum Exit Velocity

  • MV–AVG Gap (Max minus Average)

At Week 12:

  • A smaller gap indicates repeatable mechanics.

  • A larger gap suggests power potential still dependent on timing and sequencing.

Our goal remains:

raise averages while tightening the gap.

12U Group - Building Barrel Control & Early Bat Speed

At the 12U level, advanced hitters typically reach the high-50s to low-60s range. Several athletes are now consistently working within this range.

Week 12 Highlights

  • Liam led the group with a 52 average and strong repeatability (9 gap).

  • Clayton reached 61 mph, reinforcing improving sequencing.

  • Vinny reached 62 mph, showing strong bat speed for his age.

  • Bennett touched 60 mph, indicating growing power potential.

  • Lorenzo maintained an efficient 9.5 gap, reflecting improved repeatability.

  • Finn and Beau continue to show steady, repeatable swings.

What This Means

Hitters at this stage are improving:

✔ timing awareness

✔ barrel control

✔ early bat speed development

These are foundational skills that will scale with physical growth.

13U Group - Strength & Efficiency Beginning to Align

At 13U, advanced hitters commonly reach the upper-60s to mid-70s range.

Week 12 Highlights

  • Adrian B maintained a 77 mph max, confirming sustained high-level output.

  • Maxwell reached 70 mph while maintaining solid consistency.

  • Raymond reached 70 mph, showing strong raw power potential.

  • Nico posted one of the group’s best efficiency profiles (8.65 gap).

What This Means

This group is entering the strength-speed transition phase, where:

✔ physical strength begins supporting swing efficiency

✔ power becomes easier to access

✔ mechanical stability continues to improve

15U Group - Power Output Reaching National-Level Range

At 15U, high-level hitters typically range from the mid-70s into the 80+ mph range. Week 12 produced some of the strongest results of the offseason.

Week 12 Highlights

  • Enzo posted an elite line:75.45 avg | 86 max | 10.55 gap

  • Justin delivered exceptional efficiency:69.5 avg | 76 max | 6.5 gap

  • Marco continues pairing power with consistency:67.7 avg | 78 max

  • Anthony improved to a 60.45 average while maintaining output.

  • Blake reached 79 mph, reinforcing his high power ceiling.

  • Grady reached 80 mph, placing him among the top power outputs in the group.

What This Means

Power is no longer showing up in isolated swings — it is becoming repeatable. Reaching or surpassing 80 mph at this age places athletes within upper-tier national power ranges, especially when supported by strong averages.

16U Group - Advanced Strength & Repeatable Output

By 16U, advanced hitters commonly reach the high-70s, with elite bats pushing beyond 80 mph.

Week 12 Highlights

  • Matteo led the group with 68.75 avg | 82 max, combining power with repeatability.

  • Austin posted 61.7 avg | 76 max, continuing steady progression.

  • Sandro showed strong efficiency (9.65 gap) with a 62.35 average.

  • Raphael maintained solid output and consistency.

  • Simon reached 74 mph, reinforcing strong physical output.

What This Means

This group continues to translate:

✔ physical maturity

✔ sequencing efficiency

✔ improved repeatability into game-ready performance.

Non-HPP Group - Strong Output & Efficiency

The Non-HPP athletes produced strong results this testing cycle.

Week 12 Highlights

  • Gabriel led the group with 60.15 avg | 71 max.

  • Jonathan reached 76 mph, showing strong power output.

  • Vito posted one of the best efficiency lines (6.1 gap).

  • Kyle reached 69 mph, reinforcing solid strength output.

Why Max Velocity Context Matters

Max exit velocity shows what a hitter is capable of. The MV–AVG gap shows how often they can access it. When athletes reach age-appropriate power levels while tightening their gaps, they are building swings that translate beyond the cage and into competitive environments.

What Week 12 Tells Us

At this stage of the offseason, we are seeing:

✔ stronger averages

✔ tighter repeatability gaps

✔ power appearing more frequently

✔ growing confidence in swing patterns

The foundation built earlier in the winter is holding.

As we move into the final phase of training, the focus shifts toward refining timing, handling variability, and preparing these swings for competitive play. The progress remains measurable, meaningful and trending in the right direction.
