As another season comes to an end for the Canadian College and University Baseball. It’s a last chance for seniors to give it one more shot at winning it all. Being apart of this year’s playoffs for Laurentian University, it was great to see former players who I’ve had the privilege of coaching. Congratulations to Coach Matt Ferreira and Humber College Hawks on winning their first Provincial title. Outfielder Dennis Dei Banning had a big season leading the league in many offensive categories. Congratulations to Laurier University on winning the OUA title beating University of Toronto in the finals. RHP Christian Pandoff and LHP AJ Padmore were instrumental in this year’s success. University of Toronto’s Gabe Nakonechny and Alex Tabascio were outstanding all year and were so close to winning it all. Thomas Mienkowski helped lead McGill University to its fifth straight National Championship. Thank you to Laurentian head coach Brodie Jefferey for having me out as it was an honor and a great experience helping out in this years playoffs. Being in their first season, they didn’t have the regular season as hoped, but sure made a name for themselves getting to the semifinals in the OUA playoffs. Future is bright for the Voyageurs.
