West Toronto Baseball
2018 Spring Training Las Vegas West Toronto Baseball traveled to beautiful Las Vegas from March 8 to March 14, 2018, in preparation for the 2018 season. Playing 6 games against Western High School and Nevada’s top team, Southern Nevada. The games were exciting and very well played as the West Toronto competed till the last out. Max Skoropadsky had 5 hits and was a menace defensively and on the base paths. Jesse Nobrega and had a great week at the plate and looked to be in mid season form. Michael Dodaro and Patrick Stasyszyn were stellar on the mound shutting down the hard hitting Southern Nevada. 16 yr old USC commit, Jaden Agassi, son of the great tennis players André and Steffi put on a show as he topped out at 93mph and hit a monstrous home run, that was estimated at 440 ft. Not all the fun was on the field, as players had the opportunity to a private tour of University of Las Vegas Baseball Facility, as well as, watch a College Baseball game that featured a masterful pitching performance from Chase Maddux, the son of Hall of Famer, Greg Maddux. Players also experienced the Hoover Dam, a 5 am workout at Red Rock Canyon, indoor practice at Elite Training Academy, the home of Blue Jays shortstop Troy Tulowitzki. The players accommodation were on mansion, set on 3 acres. The Vegas Ranch, nearly 10,000 sq. ft. of living space. The home has a real tree house and an in-ground trampoline right next to the huge, oversized and sparkling crystal clear swimming pool. It was a wonderful experience learning about life on and off the field and the commitment needed to pursue baseball at the next level. Highlight Video: https://youtu.be/tNQSg9e3rX0
