32nd Annual "Best Ever" Coaches Clinic

The 2017 Best Ever Coaches Clinic hosted by Baseball Ontario was a huge success. Over 700 coaches, the OBAs official partners and more than 30 exhibiting companies, descended upon the Sheraton Hotel and Conference Centre, and made the 32nd annual Best Ever Coaches Clinic the largest ever. The Best Ever Clinic is Ontario's version of the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Convention, where coaches from across the province and beyond, gather to interact, share ideas and network with each other. NCCP clinics, the BEC Trade Show, several presentations from baseballs greatest minds and a "Rookie/Mosquito Series, which was presented by the Ontario Youth Team highlighted the 2017 Convention. 2017 Presenters: Kevin Seitzer (Hitting Coach, Atlanta Braves),Tony Tarasco (Baserunning & Outfield Coordinator San Diego Padres), Gary Gilmore (Head Coach, Coastal Carolina University 2016 College World Series Champions), Scott Stricklin (Head Coach, University of Georgia), Dan Heefner (Head Coach, Dallas Baptist University), Kyle Boddy (President & Founder, Driveline Baseball) and Rachel Balkovec (Strength & Conditioning Coach Houston Astros)

With the positive feedback, it was definetly rewarding to help coaches in the development process. Topics included: How to run effective practices, proper hitting, pitching, throwing, infield and outfield techniques. It was very informative, educational and relative to the 7-11 yrs level.

Presenters: Scott Robinson (Head Coach), Rick Johnston, Jordan Prosper and myself. Along with the great list of presenters there was also the opportunity for coaches to attend in the National Coaches Certification Program (NCCP) clinics. In order to coach baseball in Canada a coach must be certified and/or in the process. A certified coach is It was an honor to be a part of the Rookie/Mosquito Series presenting with former coach and mentor Rick Johnson who is a legend in the baseball community and to co-facilitate with a former coach Marc Picard who's knowledge for the game is unmatched. Special thank you to Dirk Drieberg, Mary-Ann Smith, Enza Finnie and the rest of the Baseball Ontario staff for their endless work and dedication. It was the "Best Ever's" best ever!
