2019 Spring Training Las Vegas

West Toronto Baseball traveled to beautiful Las Vegas from March 7th to March 14, 2019, in preparation for the 2019 season. The competition was tough, as they played 5 games against Nevada’s top team, Southern Nevada and the Las Vegas Recruits.

The games were exciting and very well played as the West Toronto competed till the last out. Micheal Dodaro and Roman Hudaj had hot bats all week. Thomas Roy looked to be in mid season form as he shut down Southern Nevada’s offence.

Not all the fun was on the field, as players had the opportunity to a private tour of University of Las Vegas Baseball Facility, as well as, watching UNLV vs Washington State and a Bradley University game that featured a masterful pitching performance from Chase Maddux, the son of Hall of Famer, Greg Maddux. Players also experienced the Hoover Dam, 5 am workout at Red Rock Canyon, indoor practice at Elite Training Academy, where they bumpe into former MLB ball players Chris Carter and James Loney.

Accommodation were on mansion, set on 3 acres. The Vegas Ranch, nearly 10,000 sq. ft. of living space. The home has a real tree house and an in-ground trampoline right next to the huge, over-sized and sparkling crystal clear swimming pool.

It was a wonderful experience learning about life on and off the field and the commitment needed to pursue baseball at the next level.
