Brazil Jr. National Team - Panamericano Championship

Congratulations to Daniel Chibana of West Toronto Baseball who participated as a member of the Brazil Jr. National Team, at the U-18 Pan American Baseball Championship, in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico. The 10-day, 36-game Continental Championship serves as the Americas Qualifier for the 2017 WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup in Thunder Bay, Canada. The top four finishers from Monterrey will join host Canada for the Americas at next year's World Cup. Brazil's participation was good, even though they did not qualify for the World Cup in Canada. In the group stage, Brazil played seven matches and won two - against Colombia and Honduras. Overall, finished fifth in the tournament. This U-18 category is very difficult, as there have been countries with tradition in the world of baseball, such as USA, Cuba, Panama, Mexico, Nicaragua, Colombia and Honduras. Among the World Cup qualifiers, Mexico, Nicaragua, USA and Cuba were able to fill the vacancies. "Playing for West Toronto baseball in the summer of 2016 prepared me for playing at the national level and I can't thank Coach Q enough for all he has done". - Daniel Chibana
